We have record low temperatures. We have record low interest rates. And we have record low wine prices. My advice is to get it while it's hot and then to lie back and enjoy winter with a decent supply of warming red wine.
Since our last newsletter we have noticed that every winemaker and his dog has been offering great deals. Not to be out done, we've come up with a few pretty smart offers of our own on some pretty smart Redmetal wines. Grab them before the end of June as the new excise rates kick in from July and we can't afford to keep subsidising this tax on civilised living.
As well as offering our usual range of soft and voluptuous Merlot / Cabernet Franc blends, we are releasing the first vintage of our 2007 Erinview Vineyard Merlot. It comes from Redmetal partners Gary and Diane Simpson's 1.6 hectare block just along the road from the home block and it looks fantastic. Super ripe, concentrated flavours of black plum and licorice combine with dark chocolate tannins in a very classy package that will age gracefully for another 6-8 years. Six bottle, burn-branded wooden boxes make a nice addition to the cellar, too.
