For nearly 10 years now we have been incredibly fortunate to have the support and encouragement of the team at Regional Wines in Wellington. Industry legend Raymond Chan, David Conway and Moira Jones along with the rest of the staff, have really helped to put Redmetal on the map (and on the tables of many) in our capital city.
Raymond is a man with a prodigious capacity for wine and must have the toughest liver in the business. I'm sure he has tried every wine ever made in New Zealand (and many of them twice, just to be sure), all the while remaining apparently sober. In recent years our New Year gatherings have become an annual institution, with Raymond, partner Sue and son Oliver making the trek to Hawkes Bay loaded to the gunwhales with their exceedingly generous contribution of fine wine and food, in time to mark the passage of another year. He's a bit of a party animal - just don't let him dance on the table.
